Discover together through engaging activities for all ages as you explore the Museum, learn about the art on view, and create your own artwork with Chicago artists. Inspired by Catalyst: Im/migration and Self-taught Art in Chicago artists Marva Lee Pitchford-Jolly, Jenny Siporin and Betty Zakoian, explore art inspired by personal stories, dreams and memories.
Museum admission and activities are free and open to all ages.
11:30 am-12 pm: All ages Slow Look of an artwork in Catalyst
12-1:30 pm: Make a layered, mixed media collage with Artist Eseosa Edebiri. Materials will be provided, participants are invited to bring collage materials such as a photo of a loved one.
2-3:30 pm: Learn to embroider with Artist Carina Yepez.
3-4:30 pm: Create soft sculpture horses from recycled materials with artists from Envision Unlimited.
