Event Description

George Harrison was driven to the north of England on this day to pay a surprise visit to his family.Harrison stayed with his parents at their new bungalow. He and his driver, Alf Bicknell, had to sleep on camp beds in the attic, as there was nowhere else for them to stay. The bungalow was named Sevenoaks, and was situated on Old Pewterspear Lane in the village of Appleton Thorn, Warrington. Harrison had bought the property for his parents earlier in 1965 after the attention from fans made living in their Liverpool home intolerable.
