There’s nothing quite like Shavuot on an Israeli kibbutz — the flowers, the
warm summer air, the farm fresh dairy and produce that fills the holiday
table. So, since we can’t all get to Israel to celebrate the holiday, we
thought we’d bring the kibbutz to you! Join Women’s Philanthropy and our
Shinshinit, Shira Rafalovitz, for this special inter-generational event for
women and girls (ages 10+). We”ll learn about the traditions of Shavuot as
they are practiced on kibbutzim throughout the land of Israel, make flowers
crowns, sample delicious food and discuss the many traditions and symbols used
to celebrate the holiday. And as in tradition, we encourage you to come
dressed in white!
Mitzvah Opportunity: If you have any spare vases that could use a new home,
bring them along and we will make flower arrangements in them to gift to
residents at Jewish Senior Life.
Ticket includes light Shavuot bites and activities.
Adults: $25, Under 18: $15.
Please RSVP before May 29
This event is intended for women and girls ages 10 and older.
