Journey through the artistic life of Jaqui Almaguer as she talks about her inspirations of the bold imagery, brightcolors and playfulness of her Mexican culture while exploring themes surrounding migration, intersecting, indigenous and spiritual identities to define her own. Each particpant will receive a tempalte created by Jaqui to follow along her journey.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jaqui Almaguer is a self-taught queer Xicanx artist. Born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles, Nashville and Chicago suburbs. Given her alternating Mexican upbringing and travels, throughout Mexico, the United States and Costa Rica, have greatly influenced her work. Almaguer is greatly inspired by the bold imagery, bright colors and playfulness of her Mexican culture and is interested in exploring themes surrounding migration, intersecting, indigenous and spiritual identities.
