In-Person: Women in Translation 2024: Old Tropes, New Conceptions

Members of Chicago’s own Third Coast Translators Collective are thrilled to return to Women & Children First to present their latest translations and fill you in on #WiTMonth developments. Moderator Julia Conrad is a writer and Italian translator. Her essays and translations have been published in Asymptote, The Massachusetts Review, Guernica, The Offing, and many others. She is currently working on a hidden history of women in classical music, to be published by Simon & Schuster.

Denise Kripper is a bilingual Spanish-English literary translator and a translation studies scholar. She is the Translation Editor at Latin American Literature Today and the author of Narratives of Mistranslation: Fictional Translators in Latin American Literature. Alta L. Price runs a publishing consultancy specialized in literature and nonfiction texts on art, architecture, design, and culture.
