Event Description

This meetup is about disrupting what we know AI can *generate* - but also so you will know what all the buzz is about
We bet you’ve heard about Generative AI lately, be it text-to-image, image-to-text, text-to-video, text-to-blog... you get it. Dall-E 2, Stable Diffusion, Strmr, Meta's Make-A-Video, Google’s Imagen… They are everywhere!

Meetupslike this offer a unique glimpse into this world, getting firsthand experiences from two exceptional companies that have applied Generative AI to their applications. As we dig around this hype, we'll see incredible demos and feel the winds of history.

In our 41th meetup, we will host two special speakers: Harel Cain from Lightricks, and Yuval Belfer from AI21 Labs. Two of them will shed more light onto the next wave of AI.
We will meet in person at the Belgium House in Givaat Ram on Tuesday 06.12.2022 at 18:00.

** All lectures will be held in Hebrew.

**The artistic revolution of diffusionmodels and how to teach them about you**
Speaker: Harel Cain, Research Team Lead @ Lightricks

Abstract:
Recent months saw an explosion of progress and interest in diffusion models, which revolutionized the field of generative visual AI, or generative art, especially around text to image. We will explore their fundamental workings, review a few of the main building blocks, and then will dive in on an especially interesting and useful notion: how to teach diffusion models additional concepts the models aren't familiar with, such as how YOU look.

Bio:
Harel Cain has been at Lightricks for over five years. He leads a team of eight computer vision researchers building the next generation of features for Lightricks products, focusing on face related tech such as facial manipulations, facial shape modeling and facial filters. He was previously a data scientist and security engineer at NDS and Cisco. In his spare time, he translates German literature to Hebrew.

**A large language model wrote this abstract! How? Let's find out**
Speaker: Yuval Belfer, Developer Advocate @ AI21 Labs

Abstract:
NLP and text generation have been revolutionized by large language models in recent years. Whether it's AI generating movie scripts or writing assistants, computer generated text appears to be dominating the writing industry in the future.
We will explore the magic behind those marvelous beasts and why they are at the forefront of NLP. After that, we'll see how to tame them to generate texts tailored to your needs.

Bio:
Yuval Belfer isa Developer Advocate @ AI21 Labs, spreading the NLP revolution and makingit accessible to everybody.
I have an avo-can do spirit (and a weakness for bad puns).
