ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Aliyah Jones is a vocalist, composer, and writer based in Chicago, IL. The importance of music was instilled in her at an early age. Every milestone, celebration, or simple journey to school was scored with anything from the sultry serenades of Whitney Houston to the invigorating bounce of house music. Aliyah began her formal training at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artist and most recently graduated from the Jazz Studies program at DePaul University. Her focus is now centered around The Indigo Sessions, a space for those marginalized to tell their stories and share their creations. @indigoesblues

Carmani Edwards is a bassist and composer born and raised in Chicago. A lifetime creative, at 16 her focus shifted from visual arts to include music, taking up the electric bass in her high school jazz band and adopting the acoustic bass a year later. From Sleeping Village to the Jazz Showcase to the Currency Exchange Cafe, you can find her sharing her sound and feel all around the city. @__mani_mani

Aryanna Rent, vocalist and songwriter, sees music as a mode for healing, connection, and a constant anchor in her life. Writing songs and even poetry have always been like looking into a mirror for Aryanna. An opportunity to reflect. A fusion of jazz, r&b, neo-soul, gospel, funk, and folk tuned her ear continuously from a very young age. Fascinated by this fusion of Black diasporic styles, she collaboratively created the college radio segment, Stoned Soul Picnic and has delivered journalistic interviews and articles featuring other musicians through it. Currently based in Chicago, she is thrilled to share her musical curations and connect with you all! @yannarent
