Heal with Teal is a tea party by Rwebel aimed at providing healing resources for survivors of assault, especially BIPOC non-men. At this event, there will be two guest speakers, a panel of experts from different communities, guided mediations from a licensed Yoga instructor and a licensed therapist, performances from survivors, and a final call-to-action from Rwebel's founder, Javanna Plummer. Here is the agenda
11:00 -- Welcome by Javanna Plummer
Javanna Plummer is a survivor who wanted to make sure no survivor ever went through what she went through as a survivor. So, when she founded Rwebel, helping survivors was atop her list of priorities. In 2019 and 2020, she wrote articles raising awareness for Rwebel's "Noise" column. In 2021, she fundraised for the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN). This year, she hopes to build a better and bigger fundraiser through this luncheon. During the welcome, she will explain why she wanted people to "Heal with Teal."
11:15 -- Guided meditation by a licensed therapist
11:30 -- 1st Keynote by UChicago student survivor
12:00 -- 1st Intermission
RubyGldSmoke is a wife-husband duo whose R&B music will allow guests to get into the proper headspace before embarking on a journey into self healing. They are a Chicago-based group who has drawn inspiration from OutKast and Ashford & Simpson.

12:45 -- Introduction to keynote speaker by Javanna Plummer
Javanna Plummer, who goes by the stage name "Jay. Tha Poet." has written since she was 13. She has women several poetry contests including winning first place in Urban Word NYC's 2018 Poetry Slam. In the same year, she published 365 poems as a means of healing herself from trauma, and she will perform one of them at the event. After the tragic death of Dr. Tamara O'Neal, who was killed by her ex-fiance for calling off the engagement, Javanna wrote "Miss Thang" as a response to not just O'Neal's death but also to Black femicide in general and the issues Black women face in America.
1:00 -- Keynote by Vanessa Karel, founder of GreetHer
During her keynote, Vanessa plans to talk about location sharing, safety issues with ridesharing platforms like Uber, and how you can use her Greether app. Greether is a platform that helps women travel safely. By booking a "greether" in their destination area, women are able to feel safe while also supporting the local female economy. On their website, they state, "This is a step towards closing global gaps by creating a tool that will reduce insecurity for women and generate income to women in developing areas around the world."
1:45 -- Guided meditation by Dimple Bindra
Dimple Bindra is the founder of DimpleBindra.com. Bindra is a "nationally certified Yoga & Meditation Therapist," according to the website. As a survivor of childhood sexual violence, Bindra found that Yoga helped her heal. During her pre-recorded interview, she will share out tips on how survivors can too use Yoga as a healing method.
