On Wednesday July 29th, the Music Box & Elevated Films are partnering up to present the Chicago Premiere of I USED TO GO HERE at ChiTown Movies Drive-In Theater, featuring in-person Q&As with Chicago-based writer/director Kris Rey (UNEXPECTED).
The bittersweet comedy stars Gillian Jacobs (COMMUNITY, DON'T THINK TWICE) as writer Kate Conklin. Following the lackluster launch of her debut novel, she receives a invitation from her former professor and old crush (Jemaine Clement, FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS) to speak at her alma mater. Once there, Kate falls into a comical regression—from misadventures with eccentric 20-year olds to feelings of jealousy toward her former professor's new favorite student, as Kate journeys through her past to redefine her future in this big-hearted film.
There will be 2 Screenings at ChiTown Movies Drive-In, located at 2343 S. Throop Street. Showtimes are 8:20pm (with a post-screening Q&A by Kris Rey) and 10:30pm (with a pre-screening Q&A).
Tickets $28 per vehicle.
After the premiere, I USED TO GO HERE opens at the Music Box Theatre on Friday July 31; on the same day, the film also opens for online rental through Music Box’s Virtual Cinema program.
