Ann Saunders is finishing a biography about her mother's (Doris Saunders) life. Doris Saunders wrote the memoir, but it was never completed. This one hour, Zoom program features Ann discussing her mother's professional life as a Chicago librarian and her book project to capture her mother's legacy.
Doris Evans Saunders was a Chicago Public Library librarian at Hall Branch. She later founded the corporate library at Johnson Publishing Company. Doris Saunders was born on August 8th, 1921. This program will be the day before her 100th birthday.
The Chicago Public Library's Vivian G. Harsh Research Collection holds the Doris E. Saunders Papers and the George Cleveland Hall Branch Digital Collection was launched February 2021.
