Event Description

Dorothy proudly presents 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, brought to you by Mosaic Players, a traveling theatre troupe whose work embraces social justice, human rights, and equality. 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche is a scintillating satire of women's roles in the 1950s, enlisting its characters in a caricature of the sexism, heterosexism, consumerism, and Communism exuberant in the era. Come join us for this absurdly adorable and unapologetic declaration of lesbi-independence!

The best part is, YOU get to be part of the show. Don't worry—you won't be eggspected to ham it up. Our motto is "No men, no meat, all manners."

Dorothy is 21+ and requires a physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Avenue. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please stop by Split-Rail when you arrive or speak to our security person at the Dorothy entrance.

ABOUT THE CAST

BONNIE HART, they/them (Ginny Cadbury) has been involved in theatre since the age of five, but at Mosaic Players they were most recently seen as Alex in On the Verge. Bonnie has had a wonderful time working on this show. They are excited to be playing a character that identifies the same way they do, and to be part of a of show that is such a fun celebration of queerness! They would like to thank their eggs-traordinary cast and crew and egg-cellent friends. Enjoy the quiche breakfast!

ALLISON FRADKIN, she/her (Dale Prist) is having an eggsquisite time touring with the sisterhood of the traveling quiche. In 2022 she made her Mosaic Players debut in Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 and now, as Artistic Director, is delighted to serve a theatre company that champions audacity, authenticity, and inclusivity. Though most of Allison's past theatrical outings required her to play it straight, her favorite retro roles include Essie in You Can't Take It With You, Peggy Day in The Women, Mae Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie, and Annelle in Steel Magnolias. She's also eggsperienced the pleasure of playing Lucy Ricardo in a Sapphic spoof of I Love Lucy. Allison is equally nostalgic offstage, and her auxiliary activities consist of vintage shopping, reading historical fiction, and collecting 80s memorabilia. For anyone coming out today, just know that you've got a roomful of lesbians ready to welcome you into the world.

KIT KELLY, they/them (Veronica "Vern" Schultz) is beyond egg-cited to be working with Mosaic Players for the first time! Other credits include Medea: A Virgin's Voice (Priestess of Dionysus), How I Learned to Drive (Lil Bit), and The Government Inspector (Marya), among others. They would like to thank their incredible castmates for an amazing experience and their supportive and loving spouse and household for being on this crazy ride with them.

OLIVIA LEONE, she/her (Wren Robin) is an artistic activist who’s trained in Chicago and absolutely thrilled to be making her Mosaic Players debut. She earned her Bachelor of Music from DePaul University and is so egg-cited to come out as a true quiche addict! Olivia has performed with Chicago Opera Theater at The Harris Theater and has sung with The Lira Singers at multiple Chicago venues, including the National Museum of Mexican Art. She would like to thank all her friends and family for supporting her throughout this egg-deavor.

SCOTTLYNN STROMING, she/her (Lulie Stanwyck, Intimacy Coordinator) would like to thank you for coming to the sisters' annual quiche breakfast! Scottlynn has a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Westmont College and theatrical credits from Washington State, California, Denver, and Chicago, so you can trust she is qualified to lead our meeting today. Lulie has asked Scottlynn to share a few rules before our breakfast begins: 1) Don't yolk around, 2) Don't egg-nore Vern's safety instructions, and 3) Eggs-ercise your decorum at all times.

TERA FLORES, she/her (Director) is honored to be working on her first production with Mosaic Players. She has co-directed Lombardi at the Genesee Theatre, directed Lady Balls for the Rockford Fringe Festival, and co-directed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for Three Brothers Theatre. As an actor, Tera has performed at Three Brothers in Smoke as Tolstoy and played multiple characters in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She also toured with GreatWorks Theatre Company and played Mariela in Anna in the Tropics at Harper College. She was most recently seen in Holy Inappropriate at the Elgin Fringe Festival and Pericles with Stone Soup Shakespeare.

CARYL DAVIDSON, she/her (Stage Manager) is ova-joyed to make her Mosaic Players debut as well as to appear for the first time as an understud-egg. Some favorite previous roles include Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (St. Stephen's Gaslight Players) and the Bridesmaid (and others) in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (PM&L Theatre). She is a graphics guru by day but performing is her passion. Finally, Caryl sends out hugs and quiches to friends and family, and eggs-pecially her wonderful husband. Caryl will next appear in Oakton's Play On! Festival.
