Join Queer Soccer Club Chi for a movie night at Dorothy’s on Sunday, 11/26! We’ll be watching OFFSIDE, Jafar Panahi's 2006 Iranian comedy, from Solidarity Cinema’s library. Doors open at 6 PM, so arrive early to grab a drink and your seat, and mingle with fellow soccer and movie lovers.
OFFSIDE is about a group of girls who attempt to watch a World Cup qualifying match in Tehran between Iran and Bahrain. Since women are not allowed in the stadium, they dress up as boys to pass through security. Filmed in the stadium during the actual match, this heartwarming satire balances fear and the severity of gender segregation with hopefulness and spirit. Persian w/ English subtitles, 93 min.
