Leave a Lite On: a fundraising night of mentorship stories

After two sell-out storytelling events and a smash hit fundrasier for FIRST(ISH) DATE at the end of 2022, we launched a quarterly fundraising storytelling night curated and hosted by Dorothy's Creative Director, Whitney LaMora. We're thrilled to launch LEAVE A LITE ON: a fundraising night of mentorship stories inspired by the work that Blacklite Social Club, our fundraising partner for this iteration, is doing.

BlackLite Social Club's mission is to serve underserved communities, extend guidance for marginalized individuals, produce events for entrepreneurs, and provide safe spaces for BIPOC. BlackLite is committed to its members by supporting their businesses and creating opportunities for members to showcase their expertise. We value people and their livelihood, the well-being of Chicago communities, and the right for humans to express their visions.

Our storytelling night was inspired by their four pillars: Event Management, Philanthropy, Educational Workshops and Mentorship.

Our six storytellers will each share a powerful mentorship story about someone who shaped and guided their life - concluding in a one hour storytelling event on the last Sunday in April.

Our storytellers for April are: carmen alicia aiken, Emma Becker, Dustin Drew, Cohen Kraus, K. Riley, & Fabrizzio Subia!

Doors at 6pm and our one hour storytelling event begins at 7pm! Tickets are $20 and the proceeds support Blacklite Social Club, our storytellers and our cocktail lounge that made the event possible.

Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for anyone to enter the space. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Avenue. If you're a guest who requires elevator access, please reach out before the event, stop by Split-Rail when you arrive, or talk to our security person for assistance.
