Event Description

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

With the Chavez/Maduro-induced collapse of Venezuela’s oil industry, the regime is increasingly noted for a dramatic rising export: criminal gang ventures in other Latin American countries — and lately, even in the United States. Active support for Iranian and other terrorist groups in South and Central America, including the facilitation of mass money laundering, has long been a Maduro priority. But now all manner of lawless activity has been added — mostly involving the country’s powerful criminal gangs, which, often in league with the government, control vast territories within the country, and now seek profitable new turf abroad. Special focus is on the most commanding of these outfits, the ‘Tren de Aragua’ which has steamed through any number of countries (and has, reportedly, now arrived at Grand Central Station).

Our guest is Braulio Jatar, a noted journalist, educator, author, human rights crusader, founder and editor of ‘Reporte Confidencial’ — and political prisoner in Venezuela for five years. He will speak on, among other incidents, the murder, in Chile, earlier this year of dissident Venezuelan Army officer Ronald Ojeda — ordered by the Maduro regime

We could not have a more authentic voice describing the export of crime and terror from Venezuela than Braulio Jatar.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Braulio Jatar is an acclaimed journalist, legal expert, educator, author, human rights crusader, founder and editor of ‘Reporte Confidencial’, and a widely admired ‘prisoner of conscience’ (so recognized by the UN and the OAS — he was held in a Venezuelan prison for five years (2016-2021). He has received a number of prestigious awards, including a medal from the Chilean Senate.

His experiences include: President of the ‘Fundación Derechos Para Todos’, General Coordinator of the ‘Movimiento Ciudadano Venezolanos en el Mundo’, and founder, president and professor at the Colegio Pablo Romero Millán. Books published include ‘Terror Sobre la Balanza’ and ‘Terror de Cuello Blanco’ (both available from Amazon).

And a note of political déjà vu: Jatar lives in Chile, where he was born during the exile of his father, persecuted by another Venezuelan dictator, General Pérez Jimenez.
